Here, the heroes face KAOS, a large flying robot. The boss stage takes place inside a factory. By turning into the Animal Buddy, the primates are capable of flying and carrying barrels. During the second half of the stage, Quawks the Parrot makes his first appearance here in the game. The Kongs will move slower, but they will be able to jump high into the air. This pipeline stage is filled with a strange, green gas that alters the force of gravity throughout it. There is also an optional Animal Barrel which transforms Dixie and Kiddy into Squitter the Spider, making the progress easier by using web platforms. However, some Bazukas fire TNT Barrels, forcing the heroes to avoid the projectiles entirely. The primates must bounce on Wooden Barrels shoot by these enemies in order to traverse over tanks of liquid metal. The second factory stage of Mekanos features Bazukas, small Kremling enemies with large cannons which shoot barrels constantly at the right or left direction. The Kongs must avoid harm from direct contact with the blade, while progressing across the location and going past enemies, such as Sneeks.
Inside of this stage of giant hollow trees, a giant saw will ascend and cut through the trees from the bottom, moving the screen along at certain speed. However, each hero will be harmed if the Toboggan collides against gaps and obstacles on the way. The vehicle is capable of bouncing on and defeating enemies, including green Buzzes. Dixie and Kiddy must traverse most of it by riding a Toboggan. The stage takes place inside a large pipeline system. By entering the first Bonus Room of the stage, the primates can turn into Squitter the Spider. They also must avoid to fall into large tanks containing hot liquid metal. Dixie and Kiddy Kong must avoid contact with these projectiles at all costs. Throughout it, Karbines, owl enemies in the background, will shoot bouncing fireballs from small cannons they are carrying at the same plane of the Kongs at regular intervals and patterns. The first stage of Mekanos is factory-based. KAOS is the boss of this world and fought for the first time here in the game. Mekanos is an industrial island which generates pollution around the location (to the dismay of the Brother Bear Bramble). After clearing the world Kremwood Forest and unlocking the Hover Craft, both this world and Cotton-Top Cove can be accessed depending on the player's choice.
